What exactly is this event …. Italian Wedding ?
“The Italian Wedding Dinner (without the Bride and Groom) began in early 2020. It was held literally just before the outbreak of Covid Feb 15, 2020).
It was the brainchild of Tom Wells, Lilly Gill, Teresa Stinson and some other brave souls. It took place in the PAL area behind Music Row. Folks were encouraged to dress up, create Italian dishes, come up with authentic music to play and also contribute to a judging of the best Italian dish for the evening.
From the beginning “Nonnas” were the group leaders inviting anyone and everyone to join their tables and share the festa!
It was so wildly successful, that they have had an Italian dinner, with food judging every year since.
It now takes place on the SW lawn with lights being strung, tables being set up, Nonnas creating menus, table scapes, music and dancing.
